Life of PRSM

Computer Lab
Computer Education for students has been running under ICT project since 2022. However, computer education for students was arranged under the guidance of the institution since 2011.

Library
No sanctioned post for librarian in the institution. However, teachers and non-teaching staffs have been distributing reference books to students of class IX to XII since 2010. Inspite of having a rich stock of story books those cannot be distributed among the students (V–VIII) because there is no librarian in our institution. But teachers have started reading out from those story books in the class from 2025.

Reading Room
Since 2024 a reading room has been arranged to develop reading habits of students. Magazines like “Kishor Bigyanee”, “Anandya Mela” and newspaper like “Anandya Bazar” are kept in the reading room for that purpose. Child cabinet is entrusted with the responsibility of encouraging the students to use the reading room regularly.

House Activity
Students from Class V to XII are divided into seven houses. Various house activities like debates, quiz, creative writing, dance competition, recitation, role play, sit and draw competition are arranged in every month.

Abhiskar Saptaha
Institution was selected (one of the three institution selected in Singur Block) to observe Abhiskar Saptaha programme where the students planted saplings and took necessary steps to protect and facilitate their growth. Moreover sensitization of volunteers and other students on rain water harvesting was taken up during the programme.

Workshop & Seminar
Workshop cum seminar on water borne and vector borne diseases were addressed by Dr. Antara Ghosh and block Epidemiologist Payel Majumdar in the month of June. Sensitization on tobacco consumption was conducted by Shrabanti Pal Saha, Social Worker, National Tobacco Control Programme, Dept. Health & Family Welfare, Sanity and Monomita Mukherjee, Clinical Psychologist, District Mental Health Programme, Dept. of Health & Family Welfare Sanity.

Child Cabinet
Child cabinet is formed through a democratic process where students elect their representatives for various departments such as food, health, education, sports and culture. Prime Minister together with other ministers (food, health, education, sports and culture) look after the cleanliness and food hygiene, help facilitate cultural activities, maintain discipline, and organize school events.

Public Address System
Public Address System has been installed in our institution in 2012. It acts as a vital tool for conveying information to students and staffs and ensuring a safe and well-managed school environment. It is regularly used for assembly, newspaper report reading (done by H.M); sensitization about different important issues like dengue, tobacco consumption etc.

CCTV
CC Cameras (16) have been installed in our institution in 2013 to monitor institutional discipline and ensure child security. Later another set of CC cameras (16) have been installed to cover all the classroom to facilitate further child security and internal discipline.

Solar Panel
5 KWP roof top grid connected solar photo voltaic power plant has been installed in 2015 as a Green Energy Initiative by the West Bengal Pollution Control Board and the West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Ltd. The system has been functioning properly and has brought down the amount of electricity bill significantly as well as has been sending excess power to the grid.

Clean Toilet
There are separate toilets/latrines for boys & girls. The toilets/latrines are clean & user friendly with updated amenities and adequate water supply.

School Garden
Inspite of having severe space constrain, a well maintained garden adds to the ambience of the institution.

Annual Prize Day
Annual Prize Day is observed every year on the Annual Sports Day. Prizes are distributed among students of all classes on the basis of academic performances and attendance. Special prizes are given to students with noticeable performances in Board/Council Examinations.
